Anyone snowed off?

At what temperature do you think 'sod it'?

Talking to the cold water folk more so to be fair. Took yesterday off due to illness, was planning work today but started snowing and this time sticking, not getting above 4 degrees apparently. Had rural jobs booked in today and thinking if I come across black ice on untreated roads, it'll be more than one day off. The van doesn't like mud very much so isn't going to go very well on ice.
Was thinking of moving some urban work forward and getting a bit done later on.

As a sole trader I find it futile trying to stick to a rigid schedule (kids and the weather have both thrown me off this last week).

I very rarely have a day off if I've got work scheduled in for that day....maybe once or twice in a full year I'll not bother because of weather...

It has to be thick, compacted snow and ice to stop me (because
of the risk of crashing the van or getting stranded somewhere)or prolonged heavy rain with strong winds all day...thankfully these 2 weather patterns are very rare in the North West of England.

As for ambient air temperature the lowest I've worked in is -4...again it's very rare for temperatures to be this low in the daytime in my part of the country.

It really depends on your location and what it's like on any given day if you don't go out despite what the forecast is stating you won't know as it really can vary, I watched a piece on TV yesterday with the Met Office they said there 4 day forecast was as accurate as their one day :ROFLMAO: they can't get one day right

today in my neck of the woods it was meant to 0c with a wind chill of -6c it felt like that first thing but by 10am it had warmed up and the wind dropped it got reasonably warm at 2c, I have worked in far worse weather and winters

I don't think we can rely on weather forecasts at all - they all seem to err on the bad side of things - just to be safe!
I tend to look at Met office but not the hourly view but the weather map and step through the times to see what the rainfall is doing. I think that gives me the best guess but all it takes is a bit more or less wind and the rain comes at different times or doesn't arrive at all!

It was beautiful sunshine here today with 3 to 4 deg C and very little wind - so quite a good day to work. Tomorrow a little cooler and more cloud, rain coming from 4pm so should be OK to work.

The road from Guisborough to Whitby over the North York Moors was closed this morning due to snow. I believe it was just outside Whitby.
Yes I believe it was. On Tuesday there wasn't a drop of snow on the moors but overnight it really came in. I was right on the edge of the moors this morning, Pickering side, and it was snowing but I got away with it.

They do a lot more than that. They catastrophize everything. The first sight of snow was an "amber warning to life". What a load of old sh1te. It's called winter, it used to happen every year without all of the dramatics. Then they jump straight on to blaming climate change. They've already started with the taxes for this bullsh1t too, look at the clean air zones springing up everywhere. It's a tax on poor people who can't afford a newer vehicle. Where does the money go? Because it isn't into fixing the problems they keep telling you about. I feel like I'm on clown planet. People read these scare storied and must genuinely believe they can make the problem go away by paying a tax.

Climate change my ar5e. Man made climate change spraying, weather modification more like...

You only got to look up see the unidentifiable planes pumping out chemicals, white lines making crosses in the sky mixing barium and aluminium. ( These planes can't be identified using planes spotter apps on your phone unlike normal planes)...
