How many houses per day?? Today I did

WCF

Help Support WCF:

How many houses does everyone cap each days work at.

Now I'm talking per man or in my case "the only bugger" ha ha ha

Today I did 27, good cross section from big 4 bed detached houses to terraces, semis to bungalows... Today had it all.

Started at 9.01 genuinely didn't stop, no lunch no brews and finished at 4.06.

Now I'm not slow, I have a very fast flow rate so I can work quick.

What's the most you like to do sensibly?
900

not bad! i ran a golf that did roughly 50mpg,but i went large and now run a volvo xc70 estate, great for camping but mpg round town is terrible ??
I used to have an 850 Estate T5 version - that was fun ? . Would quite like a xc70 if we get a caravan.

My first diesel was a 1993 Escort 1.6 D (no turbo) 60bhp!!! Slow wasn't the word but no matter what you did with the throttle it always gave 50mpg per tank (130 miles a day round m26, m25 and m3 to work). In 160K miles all it needed was 1 ball joint, back box, and ignition lock! Amazing car sold it when it had 230K miles and trade in garage thought it was 130K as clock only had 5 digits ? I forgot to correct him ?

Really don’t see the logic of burning yourself out by not having lunch and racing around like a blue ar5e fly.

And the question is a bit vague as it’s dependent on how big the houses are etc.

A good example of this is myself on Friday. I will only do 3 houses all day . They are very big and £80 a pop ??‍?

Average is probably around 14 but most I done is 22/23 they all in same estate & new builds. I definitely think new builds best jobs just because they don't have that many windows compared to older homes
Indeed. I love new builds. Small windows. Easy and quick to clean. My best days work is all on new estate 19 houses.

I did 11 jobs today. I always seem to fall short when it comes to number of jobs in a day compared to others on here, probably only ever do 15 or 16 at a peak. I just work to a realistic financial target then go home.  Fair play to you if you can knock out 27 in a day - not sure I've ever done that many in my entire 12 years on the glass!   ?
You beat me mate. I did 10

How can you live well without money though

I work all week and live at weekend
You can't in material terms but the best thing about this job is you can earn a full time wage on practically part time hours.

I used to do full days, but priorities changed with kids. Would rather take home less and have more time right now.  I think it just depends what you want and where you are in life.

There is no logic to see, it was merely a statement of a day. Its not how I normally work, it just so happened that day and made me interested in other people's day. Yes there is no hard and fast rule and obviously far to many variables to have any scientific significance but again I'm not implying that a doctoral thesis is being written about it, nor shall I be publishing any scientific research... Just asking a broad question, nothing more nothing less

It all depends on what you call 'live well'. We have relatives that get new iPhones each year on contract, lease cars, think nothing of spending £70 on a takeaway, have full Sky TV. They both have a decent income so don't worry about money.

We buy reasonable phones when the old ones are no longer fit for purpose, have £7 contracts (unlimited mins/txt and 10Gb), run a 8 year old car (zero road tax, 60+mpg), think twice before spending £20 on a takeaway. We have a budget for weekly shopping. We are careful with our money and consider purchases carefully. We don't have a mortgage and minimise our outgoings. We have savings and do spend them when we decide to on stuff we want - had a good few cruises, had a motorhome and tow car, had a static caravan etc....

It all depends on your priorities and what you want.
Some people are all fur coat and knickers though, I'm not saying that's the case with your relatives,

My wifes older sister is outwardly living well, they/she always has a flash phone drives an Audi and dresses well and lives in a nice postcode just so she appears better she is the epitome of all fur coat and no knickers ?

We are somewhat similar to yourselves, maybe I'm getting old ?

Genuinely wasn't suggesting you were being materialistic mate. I was doing exactly the same as you two years ago but for where I'm at in life now, I would rather have more time at home.

I'm getting old too ?‍? but still have hair ? .

We know the relatives quite well and they are doing well. He's a plumber, taken his son on as apprentice and wife is supervisor in 999 call centre on shift work. They just don't have to think about spending so they don't, no problem from me, just different way to live.

No I wasn’t saying you were!

I just think working hard to spend it well and do whatever I want to is the way for me rather than having spare time but can’t do anything cause we don’t have the money

I usually do around 20 houses per 6-7hr day, but can vary from 15 to 25 depending on the work. Saying that, I've got one domestic house that takes 2 days, so 0.5 houses per day!

I plan the work for the day based on the total value rather than the number of houses though as I'm usually on a fairly consistent hourly rate.
