Ladder safty - what are you using currently using and recommendations

good on all surfaces apart from quarry tiled paths . the tips of the spikes catch in to the smallest *****-gap in the grounds surface [concrete,pavers,tarmac ,wood decking[long as it runs parallel to the house]

but no good on quarry tiles because the gap between each tile is too small [under 5 mm ] too small for a spike to grip in
