Please not on my account, he doesn't need more reasons to be annoyed at me! ? Anyhow it sounds like a pretty good deal.

Before this situation I'd only really heard good things about Steve and ex-ceed and never wanted it to impact his business.
I don't think anything you have done has impacted his business.

The way he has reacted tough... ?

Just got mine. Inverted colours to yours though. Fitted them up with push fittings to make swapping them out easier.

I'll have a look in the old two and see what went wrong, it's probably the springs like spruce was saying.

What’s the lifespan on those connections mate? Seems like a brilliant idea but I worry we’ll be stripping poles in the middle of the day to replace them. I have some of the barb connections from Gardiner’s that can be added to the hose to strengthen those connections too ?

Also, my service kit is great. Not gonna lie though if Exceed want an opening tool I’ve got one I could sell him for the small price of just £5000 ???

I've never had one fail when it's safe inside the pole, at least not if it's just left alone and not taken apart regularly. Gardiner Poles all come with a push fit coupler inside the pole anyway.

I’ll give it a go man. Looks like a good idea. Also it would appear that they believe your 3D printed tool is inferior unless used by them ?

I struggle to believe a company this size are scared of a guy, no insult meant, that's working out of his shed. I actually bought 3 Univalves at the start of the year, before all of this kicked off. Doubt I'd have bought them if I new the type of company they are. Would have to be an exceptional bit of kit for me to buy anything from them again.

As far as ime aware Steve works from home and outsourced the manufacturing of his products?? Think he designed them on paper and gets them made , that’s what he told me years ago about his poles and aquadapter

I would bet that he has paid a lot of money for the moulds for his components,  into the thousands if not tens of thousands!

While he is a small very specialist company I think his attitude isn't great for a business. Maybe a better reaction would be to offer a refurbishing service and not to put down other people for providing what customers want.

While he is taking it personally because it is his business, in a similar way to we can take being dumped personally until we realise it's just an opportunity.

It was also nice to read why he changed from the stainless spring - issues with fairly high cleaning and value not working as easily I think.

On the one hand he should be flattered but that doesn't pay his bills. On the other I can understand being defensive but there limits on defensiveness!!!

One thing I am not keen on is changing products and not supporting the old ones - i.e. the new hoseless system has replaced the old type - not found any spares listed for the old system! OK I see he can't support the old version indefinitely but to cut customers off without notice with a non compatible new system isn't great.

It appears that Mr Univalve Jones needs to move away from his keyboard.

Just had a 5hitty reply to my video on fitting a univalve to a phantom pole

Saying I'm doing it all wrong etc. I'll do what i want. You've had your money and no more. Jog on
Unless he has a video out explaining a better way he should be thanking you for the extra sales now people can see how to fit one to a phantom pole!

He may have a good design head on him but his customer management skills need some improvements.

It's evident that he has an issue with his communicational skills with pre & existing customers.

You buy a univalve not a licensed installation process you have to use

I did what I did in my video because the latter option wouldn't work

I deleted my video because I can't be ar5ed to deal with those with poor grammar, mannerisms & attitude

I think you should have just kept it up and switches off comments (if you can do that after comments have been posted?).

On second thoughts you are helping him gain more customers......So maybe best to remove video.
I'm not advertising or promoting his products. Got bored along time ago with youtube and may delete everything next week. Haven't the time for it

I hope at some point someone introduces something that works as well as Univalve. That would be karma for his awful attitude imo.

I have about 6 in the garage ready to fit to new poles. There will be spares then that can be serviced. I’m not gonna sit here and say I won’t but another though. If in a years time I need a new one and nothing new has been brought out to rival them they’re too useful for me.

Thankfully thanks to the service kits I should be able to hopefully repair my current ones for long into the future.
