What is your go to brush?

Super lite dupont little on the heavy side but use it for everything.. do miss my light extreme brush but only lasted 3 months

You guys use a swivel on the larger brushes,is that so you can sort of turn it sideways to fit smaller frames?
Because I use the extreme 35cm I swap out when doing sach windows to a 26cm most windows I don’t bother but I do a day where most windows are leaded so use a flock for that day.

Another Question, ultimate medium soft,or ultimate medium.Ultimate medium has one less tick for first clean, acording to the/brush guide, Its described as fast, where as medium soft is described as a good all rounder. Some brushes are described as having good scrubbing. Can any one shed more light on thease differences for me please. And do you have to phyisicly scrubb harder in the case of the later?

I just stick a brush on and clean.

Eventually you'll find what you like to use.

I still use a 26cm supreme and a 35cm ultimate for most jobs.

Don't change for leaded etc either.

Would you though mind telling me please which 35 ultimate you use and why you chose it and if your still satisfied with it,as a supreme and a 35 seems like a good combination, and is probably the two brushes I will order from Gardiners Cheers

Medium mixed with 4x 100° fan jets and a swivel.

Big brush and speeds the jobs up.

Supreme for 1st cleans and georgians.

Hi again everyone,

After a lot of feedback from you all I’ve decided to get myself a SLX 22 to replace my old second hand CLX 27 as my everyday pole. I already have the swivel gooseneck and univalve.

I get the option to choose a brush when I get the SLX at the end of this month.

My question is what is your go to brush?

I currently have a 24cm medium soft Gardiner sill brush, a universal medium soft sill brush and I think it’s a medium soft super-lite brush that came with the CLX.

As an all rounder after looking at the Gardiner brush guide I’m leaning towards the ultimate 35cm DuPont hybrid medium soft.

Will a 35cm speed up my work, or will the added weight of the brush make it irrelevant?

Thanks again
What's swivel gooseneck like still yet to try one? Cheers

The swivel is handy, you can tighten the screw to change the resistance on it. When working in tight spaces it really comes into its own.

The hardest part for me was getting used to the tension I put onto the brush at different angles to achieve what I want to achieve ??

I found the same. That and getting used to twisting the pole to change the angle, as in the beginning I was holding it too rigidly and tight. As I got used to it after a week or two I learned to relax my grip and go with it. Now it's almost an extension of my arms and hands.

Mmm yes,not shure if that brush actually exists!Over the wk/end the Gardiner site was down while they did some work on it.Sure if you look at the brush guide an ultimate 35 dupont is listed, but go to the page which shows you the brushes in detail you wont find one.For what its worth Gardiner sugest an ultimate some thing or other for beginers, iam relatively new to WFP, from many years trad and was using an Xline sill with the internal rinse bar,a good brush. Then I was given a super light from some one, old but in great condition.I use it quite a lot,but I cant help wondering, how the afore mentioned beginers ultimate would feel, the difference would be subtle probably. Iam looking to buy a 35,also a supreme, and a flocked sill using my experience, but iam slightly unsure because perhaps I haven't experienced the beginers ultimate.Further buying the flocked sill is a bit of a gamble, iam hopeing to save money as I want it for facias and lead, but the brush guide recommends the ultimate flocked for leads

I clean lots of listed building and one is of only two listed in Essex the windows are very delicate, fragile and leak everywhere I would only use a ultimate flock on them as they offer the best glide over them.

I know others

would use their everyday brush but honestly if you are doing lots of leaded like myself only yesterday 25 house in a row get a flock as the cleaning experience of them on lead is so much nicer than other brushes jumping slightly.

Can you through some more light please,on what  is meant by"a fast brush","good scrubing brush" as described in Gariners brush guide. With regards to the later, I did a job yesterday, that I did for the first time 18mnths ago yesterday I did it again for the 2nd time(I know ,I know ,don't say anything).I used my super light(small) Tne the windows came up fine, the lady had cleaned the downstairs at the back recently anyway Jobsagood,n (thank you Green Pro)There was however some paint on the upstairs window looked like bird poo from the ground,so got the ladders out,and blade,ed it off,but I noticed that the small top window,(now that I was up close)still dirty, the s/light hadn't managed to do a good enough job.Thease windows of course get the dirtiest especialy after 18mnths, it realy gets grimed in, so leather and scrim, no problem.Cheers.

Fast brush to me means it doesn't drag on the glass.

An extreme mixed flys over the glass but a flocked supreme for example drags over the glass but scrubs better .
