Univalve versions

This may be a stupid question ?. Do you think it would be possible to maintain it with the hose still clipped on with the o ring. I use the green pu hose , so either side of my univalve it o ringed. When it’s broken , I always end up breaking the slim bit on the univalve, when trying to get the o clips off. I have heard some do not o clip it at all.
I use the swivel gooseneck , green pu hose and univalve, so any ideas what’s best?
Top tip, stop using double ear O clips and opt for van Gogh's (single ear) they are a breeze to peel up the side and remove without cutting or straining the univalve barb stem

Just out of curiosity, are you lads using these kits for repair, or as an upgrade to your univalves?

I’ve never used any clips to hold my PU hose to my univalves on all 3 of my poles. Not once has the hose come off ?

Mine arrived this morning...the springs seem a lot more heavy duty than the univalve springs!I don't need to use them yet but it's only a matter of time before I'll need to swap them out.....??

Yep, not on ebay yet. Only on rootek-designs.co.uk currently. Members can get 20% discount with code WCF20.

Just to stress, they're not official just a collection of spares to assist you repairing a worn out Univalve.
Sold out ???!?!!??

No, was only the 3 packs that were sold out, I only added a handful to the stock initially. I've added extra now.
I seen that and ordered the 2 just. I don’t actually need them yet but have 2 old ones sitting I will recondition. Thanks ??

I did a service on my Univalve this afternoon. Everything appears to be working much better than before. Certainly, it's easier to operate. The new large O Ring seems slightly smaller than what came out. I expect the original one has probably swelled with time.

Anyway, the first real test is tomorrow. At least the new plunger o ring has stopped the continuous drip when the valve was switched off.

Thank you @Skxawng

I was wondering about the large o ring. I checked the size from two old Univalves and checked the size on two brand new Univalves. They were very  slightly different. I'm thinking that they compress slightly with time giving it a slightly larger ID. Also the old ones were a little flattened on the inside, I assume from the constant friction of them being turned on and off.

I based the measurements on the replacement large o ring from the ones in a new Univalve, but I think if the big o ring isn't leaking (I think the more common issues are with the small o ring and the spring) it might be best to reuse it as its bedded in to the shape exactly.

I haven't thrown the old o ring or spring out. The tiny other plunger o ring disintegrated removing it.

I did lubricate the old o ring with silicone grease a while back and it didn't make the valve any easier to operate.

I also changed the pole hose back to Exceed's red hose. I ordered this pole with PU hose from Gardiner's. There is definitely less stretch in the Exceed red hose.

Worked perfectly today with both cold and warm water. No leaks at all and easier to operate the Univalve. Thanks
