Don’t want to jinx things but was that winter? Just looking ahead to the start of January and looks like half decent temperatures!
I’m commenting only on Shropshire/Mid Wales so the rest of the country may of course be different.
Fingers crossed for everyone for a good start to the New Year!

US bomb cyclone with severe snow storms and around -50c, we do get weather systems crossing the Atlantic albeit less severe than in the US but we are no doubt in for some bad winter weather
Remember that weather bomb that hit the US last year and never made it to the UK. But as you say, more often than not, we get the tail-end of extreme weather in the US around 2 to 3 weeks later.

Almost 2 years ago we had very similar weather lots of rain, then the first or second week of January we had around 2ft of snow fall in just over an hour,as we are only a week into winter we have a long way to go yet.

Yes reading weather reports stratospheric warms up first then followed by big freezing storms 'beast from the east' possibly -9 snow possibly north south Scotland hopefully won't hit East Mids but my luck it will feel sorry for US what they've had ??

Weather patterns are interesting. You guys can get a dumping of snow and yet we are just down the road from you and get nothing. We have only had a sprinkling of snow so far this winter. It's mainly been wet and then a hard frost.

I've scrapped the car windows much more often this year than I have in many years previously.

Were I live we are much higher up geographically that day I mentioned around 2 years ago 3 miles down the road they only had 4-5" of snow, you are on the coast and a lot lower down so you won't get a lot of snow

I wish we got less snow as no matter which direction I have to travel I have to drive up or down some quite steep roads so it makes me far less likely to venture out and put my van and myself at risk
